The AfD, or Alternative for Germany, is hoping to become the second most powerful party in the Bavarian Landtag, or state parliament, in the upcoming elections. However, according to the latest BR24 BayernTrend poll, the party is currently lagging behind in the race.

The BR24 Wahlarena, a series of election debates moderated by Franziska Eder and Christian Nitsche, recently featured Katrin Ebner-Steiner, the AfD's top candidate in Bavaria for the October 8th Landtagswahl. Ebner-Steiner presented her party's platform and debated the issues with other Spitzenkandidaten.
